The purchase of a sauna will allow you to benefit from many advantages which will be very different according to if you choose a steam sauna or an infrared cabin. It is therefore important to know the differences between these two models: the heat emitted, the heating power, the sensations felt...
Infrared sauna
The infrared sauna heats your body directly using infrared panels that are evenly distributed across the cabin.
Our saunas are equipped with infrared panels, designed in carbon, Quartz or Magnesium, for a longer average lifespan and a wider distribution of heat than ceramic panels.
The infrared sauna has the particularity of emitting a totally dried heat that penetrates deeply into the skin. This heat, much softer than that of a steam sauna, allows users to stay longer in the cabin to increase its benefits and to keep up with an activity like reading during the session.
It has the advantage of having a very short heating time, about 15 minutes, and a lower power consumption than a steam sauna, 1200 to 3000 W depending on models.
Traditional steam sauna
The traditional steam sauna uses an electric heater with lava stones on which you can add water and generate steam as you want. The steam sauna is designed to heat the ambient air in your cabin, which will then warm your body and allow you to sweat.
The heat is higher in temperature and much moister than an infrared sauna. It is therefore advisable to take a few minutes break during your session to hydrate yourself.
All our steam saunas are heated by a Harvia Vega high performance electric heater of 3500, 4500, 6000 or 8000 W according to the capacity of the sauna.
